Meridian is the reason of one who is alive or sick, and the reason of the disease which is healed or suffered.The meridian-collateral theory is the foundation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It is concerned with the physiological functions and the pathological changes of the meridian and collateral system, and their relationships with zang-fu organs. And it is considered as a theoretical basis of all clinical subjects of TCM. At present, TCM therap based on meridian-collateral theory is more and more popular for its good result. Developing therapeutic apparatus based on meridian-collateral theory is one of important tasks in TCM modernization.This paper was guided in meridian and collateral theory, combining with GV clinical practice, employing transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS), and developed a flexible governor vessel therapeutic apparatus.The paper firstly introduced the development of meridian and collateral theory at home and abroad, analysed therapeutic apparatus based on meridian and collateral theory in the market, and found that the therapeutic apparatus didn't have enough stimulation electrodes and function, and mainly treated in local position. Governor vessel (GV) is one of the fourteen meridans. It is located at the back of body, and governs all the Yang meridan. In the clinical practice of TCM, GV is used more and more frequently because of the role of GV in meridian and collaterl system. But in fact, the treament at the spondyle region of back was not convenient, lacking convenient and powerful instrument. The paper studied the GV theory and clinical applications detailedly, went deep into TEAS. And then a flexible electrode strip was designed which took on characters about mult-channels, whole treatment, and flexible structure. The interface between electrode strip and control system was very simple, and operation was easy. 32 electrodes interface were fixed on electrode strip, there was only 5 leads between control system and electrode strip. Mult-channels and flexible-structure electrode strip let user have good curative effect and convenientoperation. There was power waste when instrument was running. So a creative method was brought forward and implemented to control the stimulation intensity using the current control function of BJT. At last, a whole test about the instrument was did in order to analyse the performance and disadvantage of therapeutic apparatus, the effect factor about operation was discussed simply, and the trend of this kind of therapeutic apparatus was prospected.
