The dynamics of full-fluid systems have wide application in engineering structure analysis and are the international focus research fields at all times. In some spaceflight equipments, such as, liquid rockets, space shuttles, space stations and so on, the liquid sloshing and controlling research is very important for keeping systems stable. In addition, it is of theoretic significance and applied values of engineering how to control the liquid sloshing of the fluid containers and oil tank trains in our daily life.In China, a great number of freights are transported by train, especially by oil tank train. However, when the oil tank is running, it will inevitably produce liquid sloshing gently or drastically. Because the train is running unsteadily, there is strong interaction between the container and the liquid, which will effect safety and reliability of the train moving.Supposing that the cylindrical oil tank has enough rigidity and no elastic deformation is taken account of, the oil tank train's transverse stability is analyzed when it is running along the smooth and straight track. In term of particularity of the train's transverse movement, the sloshing of liquid along three orientations of the train, i.e. transverse moving, rolling and yawing is analyzed respectively. Firstly, the liquid movement equations are set up when the oil container which is full of the ideal water (or a half). Secondly, the expression of liquid force is also educed. Lastly, the simplified model of oil tank train coupling liquid is set up. Additionally, the test of dynamic characteristics of liquid sloshing in a level column tank is carried out, the results of which are compared with the ones of finite element numerical analysis.The effect of liquid sloshing on the train's transverse movement is primarily studied and the main works finished in the paper are as follows:1. The movement equations of ideal liquid contained in the tank are set up separately when the oil tank train is in the state of transverse motion, orrolling, or yawing.2. The simplified interaction model of transverse moving (or yawing) is used to analyze the responses of the liquid free surface and the tank structure.3. The multi-freedom-degrees model of the oil train system is set up and is used to analyze the effect of liquid forces of the liquid sloshing on the stability of the transverse motions of the coupling system.4. The scan laser vibration measurement instrument is used to measure the sloshing frequencies and modes of the liquid contained in a tank at different full rates of liquid. The test results are compared with the ones of ANSYS analysis.
