The analysis of the reliability of traction power supply system is becoming more important as the development of electrified railway of China. Therefore, the research on reliability becomes an important part of the transportation safety. According to the index system of reliability and maintainability, we can update and operate the equipment more efficiently;we can arrange examine and repair reasonably on maintenance management. So we can rise the reliability and economic effectiveness.The thesis esteems on the reliability of traction power supply system. Firstly, the thesis gives the conclusion that reliability of traction power supply system consist of equipments reliability, system equipments reliability and running system reliability.Secondly, the thesis refers to the index system which is to evaluate reliability of traction power supply system. The index is divided to supply quality index, power failure index, exterior effect index, pre-arrange power failure index and equipment performance index. Besides, it analyzes and compares the failure statistical data of 2003 and 2004.In summary, it shows a forecast evaluation aimed to traction substation and overhead catenary systems using failure mode effect analysis and failure tree analysis. The thesis mainly discusses the logic relations of the sections and stations which belong a subarea of traction power supply. It also agues dividing the subarea of traction power supply into some sections with the remote control technology can improve the reliability of power supply.
