Most of the traction power supply system of railway electric locomotive and urban rail transit vehicle is separate single-mode power supply system because the voltage level and current are different.The railway electric locomotive uses 27.5kV single-phase industrial frequency AC power as its power supply and urban rail transit uses DC 1500V/750V power sypply. With the development of urban rail transit construction, the electric traction is widely used for its efficient, fast, energy-saving features. It is developed from a single line to multiple lines, from single city to intercity, from a single subway system into the underground - ground - viaduct combination multi-system. In order to fully use our resources, the railway construction in China is increasingly focusing on network efficiency. The urban rail and electric locomotive dual-mode vehicle traction power supply system is designed in this paper.It can be used in difficult transition sections between electric locomotive traction and urban rail vehicle traction, the large-scale test vehicle plants for two vehicles to carry out, and the locomotive depot test line. This power supply system can supply eledtrical energy for both the railway electric traction power vehicles and urban rail transit vehicles.And the duplication of construction is reduced to avoid a huge waste of resources. The design of dual-mode traction power supply system includes the design of eledtrical main wiring, the acquisition of DC 1500V power, the selection of main transformer and other major equipment, the selection of catenary which can bear large current and stray current protection. A optimal project is choosen after careful comparation of scientificity, practicability, economic feasibility, feasibility and other characteristics. The selection of equipment and materials is based on domestic technology and stable product quality and the function is advanced in China. The design has guidance significance for scientific construction of railway power supply system.
