The continuous welded rail is a great renovation on track structure, and it was accepted by lots of countries with its series undisputed advantages. With decades past, lots of countries competed for the development on the continuous welded rail, which improved this new technology, and gained enormous economic benefit and social benefit for them. Subsequently, lots of countries try to research the continuous welded rail on bridges with greatest attention.China didn't construct continuous welded rail until 1957, and began to research the continuous welded rail on bridges in the 1960's. From medium and small span to wide span, and the followed high pier or flexible pier, and the wide span steel bridge, the wide span concrete continuous bridge, China achieved staggered breakthroughs in the research of the continuous welded rail on bridges. The succeed in building qin-shen passenger special line indicated that China was come to a new stage on the development of the continuous welded rail on bridges and was come to standardization in it step by step. With the fast development of passenger special line, this thesis researched the additional longitudinal forces in continuous welded rail on bridges. The track, bridge and its piers are regarded as a whole system. The whole bridge finite element method model for the additional longitudinal forces in continuous welded rail on bridges was established. Using a calculation program, this thesis analyzed the forces in continuous welded rail on two bridges of zheng-xi passenger special line;they are additional longitudinal forces of temperature, bridge flexure and the force due to braking and rail breaking.in all kinds of conditions and with various concrete bridge, the whole bridge finite element method model can be conveniently used for analyzing the additional longitudinal forces in continuous welded rail on bridges. At the same time, it can be used to calculate the longitudinal displacement at the peak of piers, and the longitudinal force resulted form each track, and the support saddle's longitudinal force and vertical force resulted from each track. So this model can be used widely and easily, and it can be used for the checkcalculations on designing the continuous welded rail on bridges also, it is so valuable in using.
