With the stricter requirements of engine power performance, economic performance and engine emission, it is not enough to improve engine performance only by researching its static performance. It is very important to study and improve the engine transient performance because the engine usually works in transient process when it is in a vehicle running state. With the popularization of computer and flourish of CAE software, it becomes more and more widely adopted to solve the engine problem by software simulation in engine and vehicle realm. In order to reducing the amount of the experiments, shortening new engine develop period, decreasing the developing cost and improving the product competitive ability accordingly, we can analyze and compare the different engine developing schemes by the means of integrating simulation and experiment together. The author studies on the transient process for CA6DF2‐26 diesel engine by using engine test and software simulation method. The main works in this thesis are as follows:1. The engine experiments are conducted at different speed and load on static test bench, and meanwhile, the test data are recorded. Building engine static state simulation model using GT‐Power software, correlating the simulation model to test data, ensuring that this model can express the engine performance.2. Parameters which are sensitive to engine speed and load are selected according to static state calculation results, then making a map in which the parameters change with engine speed and load. Adding a vehicle part to simulate external load to engine, adding control part to simulate driver action such as gear number change, acceleration pedal and clutch position, so we can update the static state simulation model to a transient one.3. Measuring engine transient process data in CA1258P1K2L11T1 truck in accelerated mode, recording and analyzing the data, then analysis the test error.4. Building model and simulating two typical running mode—fixed 6th gear acceleration with initial vehicle speed 40km/h and gear change acceleration starting with 2nd gear, comparing calculated result with test result, revising transient process simulation model and analyzing error between calculation...
