The Electronic Design Automation(EDA) technology has become an importantdesign method of analog and digital circuit system as the integrated circuit'sgrowing. The EDA technology, which is closely connected with the electronictechnology, microelectronics technology and computer science, can be used indesigning electronic product automatically. It was firstly put forwardedIn70s.And till now there has been three stages of the EDA. That is the computeraided design (CAD) of electronic circuit in 70s, the computer aidedengineering(CAE) in 80s and the electronic system design automation(ESDA) in90s. The ESD A, Which is called EDA now, is based on the automatic synthesizerand the hardware description language (HDL). The design result of EDA can notonly be verified by FPGA/CPLD but also be implemented through the ApplicationSpecific Integrated Circuit (ASIC). One important characteristic of the EDA isthat the design documents should be completed by the HDL. The VHDL is one ofthe standard hardware description languages validated by IEEE, which was firstlyintroduced in 1982. And it was widely used by electronic designer now.We firstly present the technology of EDA and the development of PLD devicesin this thesis. The elements of EDA then was introduced .And then introducedthe strongpoint of the FPGA, VHDL language and the software MAXPLUS, also thedesign plan is introduced. Finally, we introduced the foreground of EDA and theexperience in design.The key point in this paper is the method how to design the controller andthe memory based on EDA. It's mainly focus on the realization of data memoryand the method to design the Finite State Machine in the A/D control unit. Thedesign of the controller is based on MCU+CPLD.MCU is used to control the wholeDSO and CPLD control the high speed part. The reliability of A/D controllerdepends on the Finite State Machine.Oscilloscope is a often used instrument in electronic measurement,it is aelectronic instrument which can observe,measure,register diversifiedinstantaneous physics phenomenons and show relation with time. Making use ofA/D conversion DSO changes analog signals to digital signals,and places it tomemorizer,when it will display, we will take out content of memorizer, makinguse of D/A conversion DSO changes digital signals to analog signals to display.The design of DSO in this paper will be mostly used in experiment instruction,and it is very important in experiment instruction. It is rebuild on currencyoscilloscope, which may save money.
