It attracts more and more attention of the world that most of synthetic oils, with abundant raw materials, are friendly to environment and can adapt to tough working-conditions. Some synthetic oils are green oil. It is inevitable that green synthetic lubricants will replace mineral oils, which can be helpful to solve the problem of petroleum crisis. However the physical and chemical properties of synthetic oils are different from mineral oils, so properties of additives in synthetic oils differ from those of additives in mineral oils. So far, it is hardly ever seen such a research on additives in PAO or diesters. This paper mainly concentrates on the tribological properties and lubricating mechanism of ionic liquid % dialkyldithiophosphate (DDP) modified Cu nanoparticle or phosphorous-nitrogen agents (P-N) as additives in PAO or diesters, in order to find out tribological properties and lubricating mechanism of additives in synthetic oils, to select high effective additives for synthetic oils, to acquire best lubricating effect, and to give the optimal mass concentration of additives in synthetic oils.Firstly, tribological properties and theory of DDP modified Cu nanoparticle or P-N in PAO for steel-steel or steel-copper rubbing pairs are evaluated by SRV friction test machine and by advanced surface analyzing technology. And the best lubricating effect can be acquired, then the optimal mass concentration of additives in PAO is given respectively.Secondly, tribological properties and theory of DDP modified Cu nanoparticle or P-N in diesters for steel-steel or steel-copper rubbing pairs are evaluated by SRV friction test machine and by advanced surface analyzing technology.
