Today, the electrical power is increasing lacking. The exploitation and use of energy has become hot and was paid close attention,especially how to utilizing exit energy, including the technology of storing energy. The dissertation research on 1GW Inventer used in a sort of new storage station—battary energy storage.This 1GW inverter belongs to the high voltage and high power inverter. According to the electric circuit use, the effect, the capacity and so on, the choice appropriate power component, uses the appropriate topology is extremely important, in the high voltage and high power inverter.This paper studies operation principles, internal connection and structural characteristics of the common used 3 kinds of topologies separately, and output principle uner different topology,different control strategy are analyzed extensively. On the basis of previous work, multiple structure with varied transformation ratio is proposed, And its design peinciple and ladder wave synthesizing method are also discussed Then using Matlab to do simulation analysis. The paper also applies the most represrntative compound power devices—IGBT, IGCT, and GTO—to design 3 1GW inverter main circuits which are multilevel, multi-unit and multiple structure separately by analyzing several aspects such as number of utilized devices, practical application simificance, we get the conclusion—GTO is comparatively suitable power decvice for this paper.Multilevel invertor with varied transformation ratio which use fewer power devices and smaller structure can export more level synthenic waves. The output waveform is close to sine wave better, and it has fewer harmonies. It is easy to handle failtures and do maintenances for using modular design.It is a helpful exploration for development and utilization of the battery energy storage station by proposing multiple inverters with varied transformation ratio.
