Electrostatic field and two-dimension flow field in the arc-chute model are built during the interrupting course combining with the scientific and technical item of Shen Yang high-voltage equipped company in this essay. The inner structure in arc-chute is analyzed and improved, which is more useful in project. At the same time, the difficult problem of the interrupting with load is solved effectively which old calculation software can't be used to calculate.According to the requirement of 800kV SF6 circuit breaker's development, the distribution of the electric field and the flow field is calculated and proceeded numeric analysis theoretically. In the end the mediator recovery characteristic is gotten during the interrupting course of extrahigh voltage SF6 circuit breaker. The calculation of the dielectric recovery characteristic of extrahigh voltage circuit breaker in the interrupting course is an important part for the investigation of the interrupting characteristic of extrahigh voltage circuit breaker. The research on the dielectric recovery characteristic of extrahigh voltage circuit breaker is a complex process. Because the process includes multi-physic field coupled action, in which the electric field and the flow field during the interrupting course are the cardinal influencing factor. Therefore, in this essay the investigation on dielectric recovery characteristic has been studied on the base of these two fields.At first, the calculation software ANSYS is made use of to calculate all the electric field distribution of the arc-chute structure model. The arc-chute structure design is improved by the result, and is verified by the test. During the calculation of the flow field, the model is made by the real one, and PHOENICS software is used to calculate and simulate the model. The gas flowing characteristic is calculated by this software during low current interrupting course. The pressure changing character is analyzed in the pressure chamber and the throat. As do the gas speed, the gas density in the flow field distribution with temporal and spatial variation. So thatthe law of gas flowing is gotten in arc-chute under the low current condition. The gas flowing characteristic's influence is analyzed with changing the arc-chute structure. At the same time, PHOENICS software is utilized again to calculate the flow field characteristic of breaker with load. The pressure in the pressure chamber rising reason mechanics is explained. And the reason of arc parameter's changing in nozzle is analyzed when current is at zero passage. Otherwise, the interrupting characteristic of 800kV SF6 breaker is analyzed too. That supplies theoretical law for extrahigh voltage's development.During the 800kV SF6 breaker being developed course, the method is adopted that includes adding the gas pressure, increasing the interrupting speed, and making the gas pressure chamber diameter and the nozzle diameter best. At the same time, the nozzle shape and hot gas flowing in the place under nozzle are considered.
