With the rapid development of the economic construction in our country, many large buildings have been constructed on the soft ground in the coastland. The soft ground need to be improved in order to satisfy the demands of deformation and bearing capacity. The Deep Mixing Method (DMM) is one of the effective ways to reinforce the soft ground, which has been wildly used in China.A large mount of soft ground is distributed in Shenzhen, which is one of the coastal cities in China. Compared with the soft soils in the other areas, the soft soil in Shenzhen area has different properties, e.g. high water content, large void ratio, high compressibility, low sheer strength and low permeability. So the DMM piles has many defects in Shenzhen area, they have a low rate of solidification in the early stage and low strengthIn this article, firstly it researches the strength properties on the unconfined compression strength of the cemented soil through the test in library and analyses elements which effect these properties. Based on the test result, statistic analysis has been done and fitting curves have been given to forecast the long-term strength. Secondly, taking material nonlinear into account, some numerical analysis have been done by finite element software-ANSYS. It summarizes some basic regularites of the load transferring and deformation characters etc to give some suggestions for construction of the DMM piles in Shenzhen area.
