Artificial Quartz-Crystal Autoclave (AQCA) is a key equipment used to cultivate quartz-crystal. For its extremely conditions such as high operating pressure and high working temperature, AQCA is commonly designed to a typical thick wall cylinder structure with non-uniform stress distribution. Stress concentrations can generally be induced and fractures may even take place in such structure. AQCA needs to be designed severely so that the maximum stress is limited within safety requirements. As a result, the stress distribution of AQCA under operating conditions must be obtained in detail. In this paper, the commercial Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software ANSYS is employed to carry out stress analysis of AQCA. The parameters such as burst pressure, dimension of fault as well as depth, screw pitch and filleting radius of trapezoidal thread are all taken into accounts. The conclusion of this paper can be applied to design and fabrication of AQCA.
