Since the nation was founded, a large number of hydraulic and electric engineerings have been built in our country. Because of many virtues such as low cost, simple structure, good adaptability, good capacity of resisting earthquake and long life, earth rock-fill dams are adopted abroadly. For earth rock-fill dams, problems about seepage are very serious, so it is necessary to analyze seepage in earth rock-fill dams feasibly and correctly. In this thesis, it is analysed how to calculated the stable seepage field of earth rock-fill by finite element method, then the principle and the step of the volume method is also expatiated on the basis of former research achievments. Then the article takes large-scale general finite element software ANSYS as the platform, which has its own development tool-APDL language, and compiles the seepage procedure (Seepage) that is represented as interface by using the UIDL language and is formed the seepage analysis module. This procedure has been confirmed feasible and accurate by examples, then analyses and calculates the homogeneous and unhomogeneous earth rock-fill dam, isotropic and anisotropic earth rock-fill dam, Yanji earth rock-fill dam with clunch core. The results by ANSYS is compared with the results by other seepage soft, which is quite similar and prove ANSYS practicability for calculating seepage field. On the basis of seepage analysis, the most dangerous slippery arc slices and safety coefficients of Yanji earth rock-fill dam with clunch core is defined by running the Fortran procedure which use the Sweden circular sliding method. The results which satisfie the request of the standard indicate earth rock-fill dam stable. In the end of this thesis, it is analysed how to use ANSYS in the three-dimensional seepage field and how to calculate the seepage force, then compiles corresponding procedure results of which are quite correct. The procedure is not only used in the stable seepage field of earth rock-fill dam but also used in the stable seepage field of other dams such as concrete dam in order to provide the reference for solveing the seepage problem.
