Earth dam is widely used in China.It is the highest type of dams in the world. earth dam has advantages of lower requirement to terrain conditions and less cost. More and more scientists are engaged in researching it .The security of earth dams is always the hot top and the serious seepage is the most important in fluency factor in all factors resulting in the earth dam destruction. In our country, many hydraulics structures constructed in 1950's or 1960's were constructed in scarcity of technology and economy. All sorts of problems have appeared in working of many years. Its normally use and benefit are influenced. Therefore, It is meaningful to studies a series risky of disease Earth dam. The analysis of seepage through earth dams is evolved by the reason of above.This paper set up of various kinds of seepage differential equations as well as their solving terms. Using the Temperature model to calculation the seepage problems and use APDL Language to calculation tow-dimension finite element program of steady seepage problem on the foundation of the seepage problem finite element method formula. Using the method to calculate free surface which only one gridding is needed, the position of free surface can be gained precisely through reiterative calculation. The examples show that variable seepage coefficient of element method is correct. The case which using in this paper is 1+850 transect of Juarez reservoir dam calculation the steady seepage problem of normally water level. At last this paper give some availability suggestions to reinforcing the earth dam.An attempt on the development and improvement of calculation seepage free surface methods is presented. Using the Temperature model of Ansys to analysis the problems of seepage is more convenience and shortcut. This method has more amplitude foreground.
