Based on the Summary to a large of literature in our and foreign countries, this paper summarize the studies for the Economic Load Dispatch, use traditional dynamic optimization and Simulated Annealing that jumps extremum in little probability, and more advanced Hopfield neural network method, get satisfied result by simulated realization.The Economic Load Dispatch is a typical problem of power system. The urgent task for a thermal power plant is to improve its economy and reduce its costs under the situation of competitive power market. So it is very important to bring load dispatach into effect, improve the running efficiency, reduce the producing cost. This thesis focus on a large coal-fired power-generating unit, The primary research works are summarized as follows. 1. The thermal economic performance index and the calculating methods of the coal-fired unit capability equation are analyzed respectively. In order to improve the practicability, based on a series of actual requirement, compile the corresponding mathematics models. 2. Refer to much past literature, summarizing a lot of control methods, the progreame realization and theory of dynamic optimization and Simulated Annealing and Hopfeild neural network (emphasize this methods) are expounded. Based the studies on theory and arithmetic, the corresponding "programme for economic load dispatching" is developed by Matlab. lastly compare the result of the three methods. 3. Based on the theory method and programme studies, we get some relative conclusion. and more develop former Hopfield neural network.
