The Flow Characteristic Of Culvert And Sluice And Its Influence On The Oncemelania Diffusion

Schistosomiasis is the harmful verminoses along the Yangtze River and its south area. Oncemelania is middle-parasitizeder of Schistosom. In the mainland of China, the oncemelania belongs to oncemelania hupensis. Controlling oncemelania diffusion is the most important and effective way to prevent schistosomiasis from spreading. Irrigation canal,culvert and sluice between agricultural fields are important water conservancy facilities of agricultural irrigation;They are also one of the main channels which oncemelania can diffuse though. Basis on the Eco-hydraulic, the experiment research and theory analysis are made into the mechanics of oncemelania diffusion and deposition though culvert and sluice,so we can attempt to find out the regularity of oncemelania diffusion and deposition in order to provide theories in respond to guiding the anti- schistosomiasis.Firstly, through the measurement of oncemelania's mechanical characteristics, obtaining its settling regularity both in still and mobile water and corresponding formula. Process the experiment to oncemelania's sensitivity to water depth, getting the result of endurance and livability at different pressures;Secondly, establishing experimental mode in similar to real culvert and sluice , measuring the velocity distribution by ADV and observing the whole procedure of oncemelania diffusion and deposition ;Lastly, simulating the flow by employing the k-e turbulence model, and comparing the two ways, the results are almost accordant.Thus, demonstrating the cause which the purpose of holding oncemelania back cannot be achieved only by culvert and sluice ,and on the contrary, a little part of oncemelania may breed and diffusion locally. This phenomenon must be seriously recognized by the department of anti- schistosomiasis and the whole society.
