Visualization in Scientific Computing(VISC) is the technology which can transform some data into the graphics or images displayed on the screen and perform the interaction processing by using the technology of computer graphics and image processing. It's a cross-subject which involves computer graphics, image processing, CAD(computer-aided design), computer vision and human-computer interaction. The extensive application range includes almost all the area of physical science and engineering. One of the greatest medical achievements is the technology of Computer Tomography(CT) in the 20th century. The emergence of CT which combines computer science with biomedicine forms the new field of computerized medical image visualization. As the research in the area can promote medical treatment level and benifit the human being's health, it has become a hotspot in the field of the science and technology. The dissertation made some theory analyses and experiments which aimed at the aspect of medical CT image visualization. The theory include: medical CT imaging principle; the structure of the popular CT image format-DICOM 3.0; the technology of CT image's window location(WL) and window wide(WW) histgram processing of image enhancement; differential arithmetic operators of image segmentation; 3-D reconstruction. (As the standard algorithm of surface rendering in 3-D reconstruction, Marching cube is introduced in detail. The hole problem and solution in Marching cube are also presented.) The application include: the display of CT image which have the format accorded with DICOM 3.0 in the environment of Windows; the adjustment effect of CT image's WW and WL; histgram image enhancement processing effect; differential arithmetic operators(Laplace, Sobel, Roberts) segmentation processing contrasted effect; 3-D surface rendering reconstruction. All of experiments in this paper was realized on common PC. The main software development platform are VC and IDL.
