This paper expatiated the operating feature and the advantage of IPcylinder star-up of steam turbine. By analyzed construction feature of 300MWintegrative casing turbine which the Dongfang steam turbine works produces,the article established the temperature field and the thermal stress field finiteelement computation model. Based on the turbine operating rules and theactual running data recorded on site, a plan of the unit cooling start-up byintermediate pressure cylinder was drawn up. In the paper, the steamparameter and convective heat transfer coefficient of model were calculated.By using the ANSYS software, the temperature and thermal stress field ofrotor of turbine was calculated and analyzed. Finally, considering aspect ofthe thermal stress and life, the start-up plan was appraised and optimized.
