The acoustic emission technology represents as an undestructive method coulddetect the occurrence of leakage in its early stage and has been advocated and appliedin many power plants. This thesis, based on obtained research results, has madedetailed research about the principles and method of the technology in power plant. This thesis is based on the acoustic emission phenomenon and the mechanism ofthe jet flow noise caused by leakage and its structure of the jet flow is discussed indetail, hence the model in both thermodynamics and acoustics could beconstructed. Through study of the noise characteristics of the steam soot cleaners;this underlies the monitoring system in practice and the capture of acoustic signalitself. The obtained acoustic signals captured by the sensors would be analyzed inDSP methods, as a result, the sampling rate, option of the filters and the judgmentof leakage could be determined. Above all, the hardware and software part of themonitoring system could be realized with necessary function, and these enhancethe reliability of the system greatly.
