Against to the poor reliability of traveling wave based protection, a series ofmethods are proposed to enhance it. A new morphological filter is designed based on theresearching of the traditional morphological filter to optimize the noise-filter ability fortraveling wave signal. The method of Combinatorial Modulus is proposed in the paper toresolve the out-of-control of single aerial modulus to fault detection. New scheme based onwave head message is proposed to resolve conflict of reliably and act speed for traditionaldifferential protection based on traveling wave. Besides that, the paper proposed a newnon-unit protection scheme based on the wave front time comparing method and integratedmorphology-wavelet algorithm, the wave front time comparing method is also applied intraveling wave distance protection to resolve the malfunction of forward internal and outernalfault. The schemes and algorithms mentioned above were proved to be correct and effectiveby lots of simulations in this paper.
