The long of the cable operation also can cause loss of cable itself, increased the incidence of failure. But, most of power cable buried in the ground, is a special kind of transmission line, want to directly observed the fault location is extremely inconvenient. If difficult to quickly to clear of cable of the failure of location, it will delay the time of renovation, and extend the power of time. Conceivable, electricity enterprises and home users will be affected by a certain degree. To this end, the failure of cable location for rapid, accurate and efficient positioning, it is very important.Existing power cable fault location method is not perfect, good at Bob detection and identification using more successful algorithm is traveling wave signal wavelet were collected to change for the modulus maxima algorithm, taking advantage of the amount of the calculation method for power system mutation operation, to meet the reach a certain width of the window of the collected data. In addition, this article also compares the method of wavelet transform and mathematical morphology method in calculation methods, steps, according to the principle, conclude that many of the advantages of mathematical morphology, in cable used in troubleshooting, positioning mathematical morphological method, can realize high accuracy of fault location clear, the calculation process of concise also provides a lot of help.
