River pollution is a stand out enviorenmental problem in the world. Fen-jiang river is located in Foshan and runoff is small. Industrial wastewater and domestic effluent flow unceasingly as a result the water quality of Fen-jiang river is very worse, effect daily life and the development of economic. To harness and adimister the kind of urban river has become an environmental problem of interest to city dwellers.The research on the quality of the river and migratory principle of contaminats in the river will develop reasonable congnition of river and provide theoretical reference for the prevention of river pollution. It has systemically expounded migratory and translation of river contaminats , and kinds of oxgyen demand as well as reaeration processes , concisely introdcted concept,construction,contents,building process and the general situation of the water quality model, simultaneously illustrated the method of Estimating the parameters in water quality model in detail. This paper has estimated the exsiting condition of pollution and anlaysed reasons of the phenomenon of blackening and smell of Fenjiang river on the basis of research on basic survey,hydrologic feature and pollution condition. Monitoring sections and key subjects investigated were scientifically selected.According to present actuality,systimatical research was done on selection of water quality model of Fenjiang river,the river water quality model compatible with local condition was put forward on the accordance of analysation of hydrologic feature and pollutants mechanism of the river.Basied on conclusion of various research methods of water quality model parameter established by scientists home and abroad,combined with Fenjiang river's actual hydraulic feature and water quality condition,as well as the exsisting experimental condition of this research,the methods for determination of parameter fit to this modal was selected in order to do series research on BOD Depletion Coefficient,stream reaeration coefficient,and sediment oxygen demand of Fenjiang river. The reserch also provide the accordance for environment study,environment assessment,regional planning ,management and control of Fenjiang River district. At last this paper applyed the established Fenjiang river water quality model into the calculation of reaeration demand for the design of manual reaeration project planning of Forshan channel,which provides theoretical basis and experiment data for the implement of reaeration project,meanwile provides necessary technical pattern and design bases for the programme of synthetically renovation in water pollution and related projects design for the next five years'plan in Foshan.
