The auto-desilting gallery is a new facility which has many merits, such as easy construction, flexible arrangement, general applicability, high desilting efficiency, normal pilotage under desilting and so on. The auto-desilting gallery with special composite structure makes its inner flow into double spiral flow, which greatly improves sediment transport capacity. Moreover, the upper desilting cap efficiently prevents the flow with lower concentration of sediment entering the auto-desilting gallery. So the relevant test research has important theoretical meaning and practical application value.This paper concentrates on the hydraulic and sediment transporting property of the auto-desilting gallery with free flow by many indoor model experiments. According to the clear-water model experiments, the paper analyzed the influences of diameter, eccentricity and installment angle of sediment bore on the discharge and discharge coefficient, and has obtained the formula of computing discharge coefficient with dimensional analysis. According to the turbid-water model experiments, the influences of diameter, eccentricity, installment angle and head of sediment bore, the installment direction of deflector, the thickness of sediment accumulation and sediment medium diameter on water consume rate and sediment concentration was analyzed in this paper. The funnel slope of different characteristics of cohesive and no cohesive sediment was also analyzed in the paper, obtaining that the funnel slope can be gradually stable and is approach to the sediment repose angle, which provides theoretic basis for fixing space of sediment bore in the stage of preliminary design. Meanwhile, this paper also analyses and contrasts sediment concentration and sediment grading of water inlet, irrigating gate and exit of the auto-desilting gallery by the suspend load experiments, which further conforms than the auto-desilting gallery has greatly effect and the experiment for it is very necessary. |
