The engineering design is a comprehensive utilization of modern science. Dispersive clay as dam materials, antiseepage by geomaterial, calculation on earth-rockfill dams & management of project Design was discussed in the paper.1. The characteristic of dispersive clay, damage and experimentation was introduced. Its composition and mechanism of dispersancy was analyzed. The experience in engineering treatment. A conclusion was made that dispersive clay as materials of dam or antiseepage material was feasible.2. The main theories and methods of earth rockfill dam were summarized in this paper. For example: seepage calculation, stabilization calculation, sedimentation calculation, stress and strain calculation.3. The function of geomaterial, the application of geomembrane in antiseepage and filter in earth rockfill dam were described. The endurance of geomaterial was also analyzed in the paper.4. The method of analyzing in seepage field was brought forward by use of electric field.5 The new clew of analyzing filtering layer by use of probability theory was put forward in the paper.6. As a eligible designer, only owing technology is not enough, he/she must study more relational knowledge.
