With the rapid development of the industrial manufacture and electronic technology , the electronic equipment and trading devices become more prevalent in the various fields. The interference of some non-linearity loads such as frequency conversion and commutate equipment transfuses a large quantity of harmonic wave into the power system. The growing tendency of the abnormity and accident which caused by the harmonic wave has already become the social harmfulness in the Power system。 The paper is concerned with the important project of ZhangCun coal mine in 2004 —— mine power net harmonic pollution integrated elimination and electricity-saving technology integrated application research. Aiming at the actuality of harmonic pollution of ZhangCun coal mine power supply system, We have taken appropriate measures to eliminate the harmonics according to the results obtained by the harmonic measurement device. Firstly, this paper presents the background of selected subject, and introduces the concept of harmonics and its harm to power grid. It also demonstrates the necessity of eliminate harmonics, and briefly introduces several methods to eliminate harmonics. Secondly, it recommends the fundamental theories of harmonic analysis and the difference between those methods. And then introduces several methods of eliminating harmonics, and emphatically introduces the working principle of HAPF(Hybrid Active Power Filter)which has excellent performance and good application foreground. Then, at this base, this paper has analysized the measured results, made harmonic elimination scheme and done some analysis by MATLAB. Experimental result confirms that the device of active power filter can inspect the higher harmonic component immediately and access the target of eliminating harmonic and compensating reactive power. Finally, it presents the software and hardware designs of the detecting and controlling unit based of ip, iq operation method.
