Nowadays, the traditional carburetor fuel supplying systems of engines havealmost been switched to EFI systems, which were following the development ofabundant of sensors and microcontrollers with high capacity and reliability. ElectronicFuel Injection (EFI) system cannot only improve fuel burning efficiency in cylinders, which increased the performance of engines, but also can reduce the mass of emissionexhaust. Therefore it is one of best techniques to save resources and solveenvironmental pollution problems. In this paper, some used control theories of EFI technologies are introduced. Anavailable EFI system with FAI technology in motorcycles is presented. That is a singlepoint, throttle position-speed, port injection and Air/Fuel ratio closed-loop feedbackcontrol system. ECU may get basic injection forth width and ignition angel byquerying corresponding MAP with two parameters: engine speed and throttle position. Then the best working parameters referring to engine temperature, throttle positionchange speed and oxygen sensor feedback signal are carried out. Then with the assistance of FAI EFI system ECU development tools, thehardware and software design of ECU are accomplished. Hardware design includeschoosing INFINEON C504 MCU, sensor signals treatment input modules andexecutive output modules. Software design includes modularization design, calculating method, and control strategy design. Finally, through changing difference control parameters on vehicle tests, someengine working conditions are realized, such as easily start, stable idle condition, quick acceleration, and deceleration or extra high speed fuel shutting off. It isindicated that the control strategy in this paper can satisfy the most request of mostengine conditions in power capacity, economy capacity and reducing emissionexhaust.
