With the technology development of automobile industry, new requirements arepresented for machining. The back angle of synchromesh based on the principle ofcycloid , a new technics of manufacturing back-angle, is presented in this paper. Thenew technics makes it easy to adjust the depth and length of workpiece throughadjusting the parameters of cycloid. The cutter utilized in this techinics is cheap andeasy to be made. In addition, The new technics is easy to adjust parameters, which isfit for manufacturing new product and small-mass production.Cycloid cluster is a new concept presented in this paper, which is a set ofcycloids. To process the back-angle accurately and efficiently, the parameters ofcycloid are adjusted to make the envelope curve of cycloid approximate involute .The accuracy of back-angle can be achieved to 0.01mm through selecting soundcutting velocity and optimizing the servo system's stiffness. The accuracy meets therequirement of market. In this paper , the utility range of cycloid is also widened. The racking method ,intermittent method and the multi-axis method are used to being adopted in traditionalprocessing non-continuous plane. These methods cover to-and-fro feed movement andintermittent movement. The new technics can turn the non-continuous processing tocontinuous processing, which greatly improves the processing accuracy and velocity.
