In urban traffic constructions, due to limited land resource and rapid population increase, a lot of tunnels are built to solve traffic jam. Generally, traffic accidents and fire happen frequently in tunnel. Moreover, due to special space structure, salvage is quite difficult once fire happened, so fire damage is usually disastrous. Therefore, relative criterion and standard about fireproofing protection for tunnel are promulgated home and aboard. In the present fireproofing ways such as spraying fireproofing coatings, installing fire extinguish system and so on, demerits are existing more or less, for example high cost and fussy construction. In contrast, the environment-friendly lightweight fireproofing Board has outstanding market foreground and social benefits.This project aims to R&D of novel fireproofing board for tunnel. The research contents include producing prescription, safety and toxicity, production techniques and construction techniques. By a lot of trial and error, a new-type lightweight fireproofing board is developed. The test results indicate this production has obvious characteristics such as high temperature resistant, moistproofing, low distortion, and fireproofing limitation of 3h. Its safety and toxicity has been examined according to relative national criterion and standard and the results show that no deleterious and poisonous gas is produced after combustion. The technics flow design is very simple and easy to manipulate. The production efficiency is very high and the production quality is credible. Its installation is convenient and easy to renewal.At present, the fireproofing board for tunnels mainly depends on import and mostly expensive, which no doubt increases engineering cost greatly. The successful development will fill in the empty in our country, and produce great economic benefits.
