Dam, which needs huge investment and high benefit plays an important role in the development of national economy and human's life. Once a large reservoir is broken, a great loss of human's lives and property will be inevitable. Safety monitoring of dam is significant to the integrated dispatching and safe operation of it, and the monitoring data will be useful to the dam design and construction in the future.According to the present status of Concrete-faced Rockfill Dam, the optical fiber seepage sensor is developed with the annunciator as the testing instrument instead of the hand-testing method in this paper. The optical fiber safety monitoring system is constructed with network technology. Consequently, the state of dam can be monitored intelligently which will result in the reduction of the accident and the risk of the dam.Firstly the work principle and distinguishing feature of the kernel hardware -optical fiber temperature sensor are introduced in the safety supervision system. Through the on-spot emulator experimentation to the trial system of the dam, the data variability characteristics can be showed on optical fiber temperature sensorIn this paper we take Microsoft Windows NT4.0 as operating system, take Microsoft Excel2000 as the data administration system to realize data exchange and the report function;take Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 as the data link system to realize the communication of the optical fiber temperature meter of the work controlling machine;take general supervision system InTouchs as systematic configuration software to realize the configuration function of supervision appearance. These four sections constitute the software terrace of the optical fiber sensing safety supervisory system.In the aspect of the systematic software section, we discuss the dynamic link library in detail, the relationships between dynamic link library and static state link library, dynamic link library and application program, and the establishment and call of dynamic link library.Due to its characteristics and requirement, the system can be divided intothe data collecting layer, monitoring layer and administration layer, and the network is composed of Ethernet which is the upper network and RS485 network which is the lower network., The hardware and software design about the system is introduced in details.In the paper, we finally introduce the function of the fiber optic sensing safety supervisory system, display the operation effect of the system;moreover, we sum up the full text and put forward the outlook of the work of the next step.
