The performance of hydroacoustic transducer is a large extent determined by device design and complete and the performance of piezoelectric ceramics which conld reception and launch hydroacoustic signal. According to hydroacoustic technology applications, manufacture a two-way hydroacoustic transducer. According to the effect of device's structure on performance, we design the short columns hydroacoustic transducer. According to the performance of piezoelectric ceramics for hydroacoustic transducer, prepare calcium titanium structure xPMnS- (1-x) PZN piezoelectric ceramics. Studied structure, dielectricity and piezoelectric performance of piezoelectric ceramic, analyses the composition, structure and performance and the relationship between the molding methods. The results showed that the ceramics pressed by powder electromagnetic forming have compact structure and homogeneous size of crystal grain and have better dielectricity and piezoelectric performance than prepared by pressed green and ram-air. When x=0.6, we got the best general performance that is most suit for a two-way hydroacoustic transducer. The main electrical properties are as follows: d33=331pC/N, kp=0.44, ε33T/ε0=1759, Qm=608 和 tanδ=5.0 ‰. Short columns type structure is suit for a two-way hydroacoustic transducer. When using the piezoelectric ceramics display-type parallel connection design, we get the larger power conversion efficiencies and superior launch reception sensitivity and good directivity. Use the material into the display-type parallel connection short column transducer, the power conversion efficiencies is 28%, launch sensitivity is 164dB and reception sensitivity is -179.7dB. The material and the design could satisfy the requests of devices.
