The fault of power line seriously affects the safety, stability and the reliability of thepower system. At the same time, the power corporations and the consumers suffer largeeconomic loss. And so far, there is not a kind of effective fault location method fordistribution line. This paper proposes a fault location method to distribution line——C-Traveling wave fault location by researching various methods of fault location. It canfast and accurately fault location when system occur single-phase grounded fault.Analyses the emulation of various single-phase grounded faults by using ATP softwareand verifies the feasibility of the method. Inspects the application effects of the methodthrough physical experiment and discoveries the factors that affect traveling wave faultlocation , and then proposes the corresponding solving method.Fault location with the method that this paper puts forward is irrelevant to the limitsof the voltage amplitude in time of the fault, and can effectively overcome the impact ofthe grounded resistance, have application prospect. And have gotten verification underphysical experiments .
