The accuracy of load model has great effects on the stability analysis and control ofpower system .Not only should good model be able to reflect accurately thecharacteristics of load, but also have a structure as simple as possible. The existingcomposite load model although can descripe load characteristic well, but it is relativequite complex, having many parameters to be recognized. This paper develops a methodon simplifying the model structure. It provides a theoretical foundation for the researchby the qualitative analysis on the multi-valued performance of model parameters.Parameters which have greater effects on the characteristics of load are achieved by thesensitivity analysis of them, and they are identified;the parameters which have a lesssensitivity be fixed based on the sixth typical parameters value recommended by IEEE.This model has a more simple structure and a clear physic significance. The researchindicates that it has a good generalization capability .
