With the development of the technology of the high voltage direct circuit transmission(HVDC), HVDC is widely investigated and applied in our country. Commutation failure isthe common faults for the HVDC. The causes, harm and measures for prevention from thecommutation failure has been analyzed in this paper.DC power transmission simulationmodel is set up in this paper with the Matlab software, and various faults such as single-phasegrounding short circuit, phase to phase short circuit, three-phase circuit grounding shortcircuit and inverter bridge short circuit are simulated in this model. After nearly 100 timessimulations, the curves of characteristics of every fault are obtained. With these curves, thetransient process after serious distortion in the DC transmission system is expressed, and theeffects on commutation failures caused by various faults is obtained with theoreticalanalyses in this paper. |
