| With the development of the technology of the high voltage circuit transmission (HVDC), HVDC is widely investigated and applied in our country. Commutation failure is the common fault for the HVDC. The cause, harm and measures for prevention from the commutation failure has been analyzed in this paper .DC power transmission simulation model is set up in this paper with the Matlab software, and various faults such as single-phase grounding short circuit, phase to phase short circuit,three-phase circuit grounding short circuit and inverter bridge short circuit are simulated.
