A reliable urban water supply system is the basic condition of the subsistence and development of the city. Firstly, the guideline to evaluate the system reliability is established. Then, the guideline is calculated in this paper. The reliability of riverhead and pumping station is qualitative and quantitative analyzed in this paper. The reliability analysis model of pumping station system is founded .On the foundation of frontal investigation, the reliability analysis of pipe net is ulteriorly studied with Monte-Carlo method in this paper. The guideline to evaluate the pipe net reliability is established newly. Finally, taking a pipe net of a county seat in Anhui province as example, the new method is applied.The factors that affect the reliability of urban water supply system is extensive, such as the failure of pipe, water pump, power supply for pumping station, riverhead. Generally speaking, the urban water supply system with high reliability needs more investment of project than that of low reliability. But the economy loss and society influence owing to the low reliability of urban water supply system must be great. It's impossible that a system can run without failure. According to the weakness determined by system reliability analysis, we can take corresponding measure to improve system in reason and the occurring of system failure can be reduced, prevented or forecasted. The reliability can be increase to the greatest extent at a certain investment.Monte-Carlo method, reliability theory, computer program are used in this paper. On the foundation of frontal work by so many studier, urban water supply system reliability analysis is studied in this paper. It's hoped that the work I did in the past year can help to optimized designing of urban water supply system and developing the work of urban water supply system reliability analysis.
