There are numerous high buildings, congested traffic, and dense population in modern cities. As the rapid expansion of cities, the natural environment is suffering unprecedented destroy, and this caused bad influence to people' s mentality and philosophy. How to embody literal feelings, to break through the isolation between human beings and the nature, to recreate an epitome of the nature utilizing the limited space, and to make an organic amalgamation of human, nature and architecture should be the development direction of the modern environmental design. Moreover, the landscape poetic imagery of literal landscape garden just provides such a mind. Therefore, we should dredge up its aesthetic thoughts and its abundant art representing language, let it become our investigation direction and design current."From tiny dust viewing the world, a breath meeting with the end" is a superexcellent embodiment of Chinese literary men' s special feelings towards landscape gardens, which is full of infinite ideal poetic imagery in its limited concrete image. It is the integrated expression of Chinese literary men' s spiritual culture, philosophical consciousness, artistic taste sentiment, and action manners. China' s landscape paintings and Chinese landscape gardens are praised as a couple of "sibling arts" . They both take natural landscape as the main theme;however, they are not merely imitating the nature, but achieving a kind of "likeness inspirit" . From a general view about the development of literal landscape gardens and Chinese landscape paintings, we can see that landscape gardens almost developed along with that of the landscape painting, the layout and design were mostly come out buy the cooperation of literary men, painters and handy workers. Especially in the period of Ming and Qing Dynasties, some literal painters who were good at landscape paintings became famous garden designers (Zhang Huiming, Shi Tao, etc.), whereas some famous garden designers (Ji Cheng, Zhang Nanyang, Zhang Nanyuan, etc.) also did well in landscape paintings. They utilized such points of view that "Saint with truth reflects matters" , "Saint with spirit rules truth" , and "landscape with shapes beautifies truth" into the gardening. They took those gardening factors as the hills, stones, flowers and trees, water, and architecture and so on to be their brush-pencils to brandish willfully in the finite garden space, just like the painting of an enjoyable landscape on a piece of white paper. So we can conclude that the literal landscape garden is the physical form of landscape painting.The artistic landscape conceptions are widely exerted and embodied in the literal landscape garden. Many of the gardening techniques are from landscape painting' s aesthetics thoughts. In the aspect of space distribution, according to the landscape painting theory that describing landscape painting should embody "seeable" , "feasible" , "able-to-visit" , and "habitable" poetic imageries, the gardening pursues the actual conditions cooperating with the shadows, the motivescenes appreciating the silent ones, abundantly utilizing occasions, and high-low strewing at random. Both gardening and landscape painting pay much attention to the creation of poetic imagery. Poetic imagery means a kind of meaning charm that achieved by the image of the works of art. Firstly poetic imagery contains the garden designer' s life attitudes;people can feel the garden designer' s mental meanings according to the sights in the garden, through the concrete visions, people can understand more thorough and extensive deep and remote and beautiful poetic imageries, it truly is that "scenery is limited but poetic imageries are boundless" . And this is the soul ofChinese traditional gardening.Nowadays the global is facing fatal environmental danger, such subjects as "healthy design" , "sustainable development" , and "human beings live harmoniously with the nature" are brought forward, all of those subjects show that people are concerning our environment more and more seriously., as the zoological awareness China' s literal landscape gardens create can be cultural sustainable development resources, today we talk about them frequently, and they can have active effects on our modern city environmental construction. So the inheriting and developing of traditional literal landscape garden culture is to "use the remote antiquity for reference to open up today* s development" .
