Steel Reinforced Concrete (SRC) structure which has the advantages of steel structure and reinforced concrete structure concurrently is a kind of structural with very good development prospect. Since relevant rules are issued, SRC structure gets faster development in our country. The column base connection, as a connecting link in structure, plays a very vital role and the study on its performance is very important. The typical forms of SRC column base are bare type and embedded type. Before 1995, studies of bare type column base mainly concentrated on its performance under compression and shear. Hyogoken-Nanbu earthquake indicated that bare type column bases connection destroyed by high tension and shear force. So it's imperative to propose a formula to calculate the resistant properties of bare type column base under high tension and shear force. According to test data, the factors effect the resistant properties are as follows, ratio of tension load against ultimate tension strength of main reinforcement and anchor bolts, shear span and ratio of main reinforcement to anchor bolt in column base section. The paper summarizes the impact of factors on column base's resistant properties and establishes a formula. The formula's result is identical with testing results. If the buried depth of embedded type column base is large enough, the shear and moment on the column can be balanced by concrete's lateral pressure. So the foundation slab and anchor bolts should not be calculated. The method to calculate the depth now is the same as steel column base's calculating method, which only considered concrete lateral pressure nearby the web part of flanges to resist bending moment and shearing force. However SRC structure is different from steel structure. Section steel has the reinforced concrete in the section intension, the flexure question can be neglected, therefore calculating the depth of SRC column base with the formula of steel structure is conservative and the calculating result is larger than the test result. This paper analysisthe results of experiment, and proposes a formula to calculate the buried depth of column base. Compare with the experimental results, the calculating result is conservative, but it is much less than the requests of the two SRC design regulations, then obtained the reasonable laying depth. This paper proposes resilience model of SRC column base connection, and comparing the reference points calculated with the tested values, indicated the calculate model is identical with the factual results.
