It is inevitable to impact regular service and safely operation of surface buildings and underground structures because of ground surface settlement and deformation by constructing urban subway. Choicing proper method in prediction of ground surface settlement and deformation can select optimally construction technology and establish a set of perfect measures. In this thesis, it is discussed many forecasting methods of ground surface settlement and deformation, such as peck theory formual, numerical caculation, stochastic medium theory, analysis by basing on the measured data, model test method and so on. After analysis and comparison, it is determined to base on stochastic medium theory. Through refined derivation of the formula, and by using integral-transform method in polar coordinate, integration become convenienced. So it is reality to predict the ground Surface settlement, inclination, curvature, lateral movement and lateral deformation due to tunnel section excavated in arbitrary section tunnel, multiple punching tunnel, large cross section tunnel for staged construction and so on.In addition derive corresponding formual of ground surface settlement and deformation caused by special construction method, such as dewatering method, freezing method, squeezing shield tunneling method, compressed air method. The correspondent program is compiled by applicaton of Matlab software. Finally many examples of case history show that the prediction method developed can reach good results and has some practical value.
