Tensile test machine, a basic test machine, is to measure strength, rigidity, flexibility, plasticity, tenacity and ductibility of various material (including metal material and non-metal material), parts, structure member and etc through pull and stretch testing. Tensile test machine is applied extensively in quality test, metering test and experimental study, and involved in such fields as machine, metallurgy, construction, aviation, aerospace, military industry, transportation, quality inspection, metering, education, medicine and science & research, etc, being a quite important & underlying test machine in industry, agriculture, daily life and national defense .Tensile test machine has been used and greatly developed for over fifty years in our country. In order to well continue the role of old type tensile test machine, modem improvement of tensile test machine has been conducted based on traditional & old type using a new detecting & control device as well as through new advanced detecting and control technology, so as to enhance measurement and control accuracy and achieve close function to new-type tensile test machine. This upgrading and improvement have become a hot and important activity today when we are actively constructing a economical society.This thesis is to study measurement and control principle of tensile test machine, and to complete modem upgrading & modification for two different types of tensile test machine based on the typical machines manufactured in the 1980s( one type: a Japanese AC driving electronic tensile test machine;another type: three Chinese-made DC dial tensile test machines). This thesis puts forward a practical, widely-applied, low cost and well effective modern upgrading scheme with close function to new-type.In practice two different schemes are made based on original structure of old tensile test machine and actual demand as well as in consideration of cost. Sensor activating unit, signal regulating unit, AD converting unit, SCM data-acquisition & control unit are designed for improvement of AC motor-drived tensile test machine. For improvement of three dial tensile test machines, multi-functional data acquisition card is used for control & data-acquisition unit,DC motor driving module is used for motor driving unit, and meanwhile a new and redesigned electrical circuit is made.This paper achieves a good actual result of improvement and put forwards a novel idea and practical method for low-cost, multi-functional, comprehensive measurement & control improvement as well as lab comprehensive management and data-sharing, by design of hardware circuit and electrical control circuit as well as programming of related measurement & control software.
