Chapter One: IntroductionThe pump usually means to the machine which use to absorb, transport theliquid and increase the pressure of liquid. The pump, which was made in old days,was driven by the electromagnetism machine or electrical engineering. So itcouldn't satisfy the requirements of airship,artificial satellite, airplane,auto,robot,exact apparatus and MEMS system. Piezoelectric pump's power isanti-piezoelectric–effect of piezoelectric ceramic. With the special work methodand functions the Piezoelectric pumps was more recognized by scholars since thefirst model was present in the end of 1970's .Compare to the traditional pumps, thepiezoelectric pumps has simple structure, small volume,light weight and withoutnoises. Compare to the other micro-pumps, the piezoelectric pumps consumes lowenergy, doesn't effected by electromagnetism, ease to control and miniaturization.Because of these characteristics the piezoelectric pump can be used to manyfields.Many countries in the world are working on the development of it now.On the basic of structure characteristics and principle of the piezoelectricpumps which researched by national and other countries, the author put forward anew structure——single-chambered piezoelectric pump with double-actuator. Inthe article research the working principle and analyse the factors that effects thecapability of the piezoelectric pump.Chapter Two: Theory analysis on the oscillating of piezoelectricactuatorPiezoelectric actuator is the power source of the piezoelectric pump, whichplay the key role on transforming the electric energy into mechanical energy. Thesimplest actuator is made by bonding a piezoelectric element to one side of apassive elastic plate. It makes use of the piezoelectric material's reversepiezoelectric effect to transform the electric signal into the machine displacement,and engender oscillating of the whole piezoelectric actuator.On the basis of the knowledge that relates to piezoelectric effect,piezoelectric materials and their performance parameters, we analysis theoscillating mode to the piezoelectric actuator composed of single piezoelectricceramic plate and metal sheet, educed the geometry equation and constitutiveequation of piezoelectric actuator.Chapter Three: The experimentation of piezoelectric actuatorIn order to comprehend the libration and working capacity of the piezoelectricactuator, the author test the biggest deformation of the actuator which drived by thedifferent voltage. The author also test the rule of the actuators on the condition ofdifferent voltage and frequency.The experiment of the piezoelectric actuator indicated that: the measure ofdeformation is affected by the signal and load. The deformation of the actuator islinear with the voltage, the deformation increases along with the increasing ofvoltage;At the same time, the difference of electric signal also influences thedeformation of piezoelectric actuator. Among the three electric signals, when theinput is the rectangle signal, the performance of the actuator is the best, and thenthe sinusoidal signal take second place, the triangle signal take last place. Inaddition, with the influence of the chamber's pressure, the deformation under theloaded condition decrease. The swings aren't same when the actuator vibrate in twodirections.Chapter Four: The working principle and theory analysis ofsingle-chambered piezoelectric pump with double-actuatorOn the basis of analysis to single-chambered single-actuator piezoelectricpump, the single single-chambered piezoelectric pump with double-actuator isprospered designed and fabricated. Analyse the advantages and disadvantages ofthe different checked valves and adopt the rubble valve at last in order to simpledthe structure of the piezoelectric pump.Two optimized design structures have been put forward. Through testing andresearching on the performance of the pumps, the optimal structure is selected.The piezoelectric pump is micro pump so there are a lot of factors affect itscapability such as geometry parameters of actuator and position of the valve holes.Chapter Five: The experimentation and conclusion ofsingle-chambered piezoelectric pump with double-actuatorDesign and make some piezoelectric pumps with different parameters bymyself. Research the factors such as voltage,frequency and the height ofchambered which affect the piezoelectric pump's capability. The results are asfollowings:1. The outputs of the pressure and flux are linear with the voltage, thedeformation increase along with the increasing voltage. The range increases morebigger as the voltage increases more bigger under the condition of voltage allow.2. In the range of frequency, not only flux but also pressure has the max value.The frequency segments are different. The best value of pressure is 45Hz and theflux is 28Hz.3. Double-actuator piezoelectric pump's output ability is compared to that ofsingle-actuator piezoelectric pump, the output pressure and flux is obviouslyimproved (about 200%). It's flux decrease as the output of pressure increase, andthe range is related to the frequency.4. The capability of the single-chambered piezoelectric pump withdouble-actuator is affected by many factors, such as the height of cavity andnumbers of valves. Flux of the pump is increasing when the height of cavity isincreasing. In this article flux is most biggest when the height is 0.8mm. But if theheight goes on increasing, flux will decrease. The flux of pump will increase butthe pressure will decrease if the number of valve is reduced.
