The Paper-Aluminum-Plastics compound material consists of a layer of cow skin paper, the Al plated layer and a layer of PE, which is good at preventing the contents form deliquescing and deteroprating by separating the vapor and gas efficiently to extend the guarantee period. It is a novel compound flex-pack material, and its degradability is helpful in environmental protection. Now the PAPER/AL/PE Film is produced and applied widely, so the research on its performances, especially on the separation property and degradability is very important.Considering the research has relationships with the original properties of the PAPER/AL/PE Film, we firstly studied the performances such as coefficients of friction, heat-sealing strength, air permeability and vapor permeability. We also analyze the three base materials and design the configuration of the compound material according to the theory of the interface joined.Based on the diffusion equation and element transfer theory, we have made a conclusion about the effect of pinhole on the separation property of AL compound material in theory. By analyzing the measurement principle and methods on the separation of Al compound material, the research arrangement for separation property and degradability of the material is proposed. At the lab conditions we simulated various environmental factors(water,seawater,acid rain,fungus,ultraviolet radiation) to study its separation property and degradability, and got the conclusions about the variety of the material performance by experiment.In this paper, the following conclusions are shown:1,According to the requests of the national standard GB 9774-2002 and some correlative rules, some experiments on the basic performances of Paper/Al/PE compound material have been done. The conclusion is got that the novel compound material attains the requests of the international standard and it could be widely used for food and medical flex-pack.2,Different performance of Paper/AL/PE file was measured, and the data was analyzed and compared with different ingredients, thus the performance of this novel material could be better understood. The results showed that the friction direction affects the coefficients of friction slightly; the friction interface should be cared for the effect of friction during production cycle.3,In the natural environment or other simulated environmental factors, the separation of Paper/Al/PE film weakens with time, but it is good enough for use in a package life cycle.
