The first stage compressor or fan blades of aircraft engine may be damaged due to bird impact. The accidents of bird impact have caused huge loss to human being . It is important to establish the predicting system to definite the response of the blade for the improvement the strength of the blade on the design of the resistance of the blade under the bird strike.The summary in the field of the research of the bird impact on engine blades and the basic contact caculation methods. According to these basic theories and methods,many numerical simulation of bird impact on flat blades are completed by ANSYS\LS-DYNA.The experiment of the transient response of the blade due to bird impact is completed, and the high speed phorographs are analyzed , then the curves about the displacement of blade tip are drew which are helpful for the caculation of bird material parameter.By compared , the best densty of grid of blade model and bird model are established . The response of blade due to different material parameters of bird model is analyzed , and the reponse sensor is confirmed , then the relation between the reponse and bird material parameter is discussed . Reference to the experent results , a good bird parameter is chosen . The response of blade due to two kinds material bird model impact are analyzed . Compared the response results with three kinds bird model , the bird gecemetry model and bird material parameter are decided which exactly reflect the liquid characteristic of bird model and the transient response of blade .
