The network analyzer is one of all the basilic test instruments in electronic area. Traditional network analyzer has large volume, cannot save the data which is tested and cannot connet with PC.These give user a lot of discommodity.A design and implementation of an intelligent,1GHz scalar,network analyzer are described in the paper,which is particularly designed for the high frequency tuner. The device is also widely used to measure the amplitude frequency characteristic of instrument in the TV-broadcastiong field , such as filter , amplifer,ect. By using single-chip microcomputer C8051F060 and DDS AD9852, the instrument is easy to measure the transport characteristic of the high frequency tuner. By using C8051F060 to control DDS chip AD9852, a signal with high resolution, high transferring speed and pure spectrum is obtained. The output frequency range is up to 1000MHz.The system can give the frequency characteristic drawing of the high frequency tuner by connecting PC with USB. The 16-bit ADCs inside the single-chip microcomputer are used in the instrument to measure the output signal of the high frequency tuner, two12-bit DACs are used to give the control signal needed by programmable gain amplifier. The system has the characteristics such as light volume,light weight, and low cost, which make it more applicable.
