| The commercial residential building complex along the pace of city modernization is mushrooming with unpreventable forces in China. It combines the residential space with other functional space and to compound them to a whole one. So the city soil resources are used more efficiently and the utilization of land is enhanced. Commercial residential building complex is a kind of architectural form full of life, but also a kind of form mirroring the economics and society in the urban multiple real estate development. It features great importance for the urban innovation and community development. However, great achievements accessed in the process of development, many problems are exposed simultaneously. In this paper, some research has been done on the commercial residential building complex as a special architectural form based on practical attitude and systematic method, the historical origin of its arising and developing. Under the basis of a large number of surveys on real built residential tier buildings, the thesis at first analyzes and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of them. Moreover, the author makes an attempt to solve the issues in the commercial residential complex design and hopes to provide with valuable references for the designers.
