The research of adsorption refrigeration driven by solar energy has obtained stage results. However there are a long distances to its commercial use. The main reasons are that its cold period is too long, its refrigeration coefficient is too low and its cost is too high. Applying adsorption refrigeration technology to solar energy utilization area, The dissertation designed and manufactured the small scaled solar energy adsorption air condition device used flat panel and the vacuum tube as its thermal absorber. We carried on a series of experimental research, and get some meaningful results, The main works and related research results are summarized as following:The concept and theory of adsorption refrigeration is introduced. The progress of researches on adsorption refrigeration is summarized, especially the studies on working pairs, cycles and the design of adsorbent beds.Using silica gel/water as the working pair, we designed and manufactured the small scaled plate plan and the vacuum tube type solar energy adsorption air condition device used natural wind cooling and carried on a series of experimental research.The test results indicated that above two solar powered solid adsorption air conditioning was technically feasible, conform to its original design intention and could provide further research to its excellent performance.The test results also reveals that under the operating condition , vacuum tube type absorber has an advantage over the plate plan absorber of its efficiency. The vacuum tube absorber temperature could attains 103°C, desorption top temperature is about 99°C and the COP is 0.160.
