Traditional type of the project layout of pumping statin and sluic have good inflow condition and can better solute the wanter problem of the river, but since it covers a large of area,it is easy to arouse the problem of requisition of land ,dismantlement of houses and resettlement population.Combined Sluice-Pump project can better solute these problems. It can save the investment of the project considerably and improve the efficiency of management, so the application of the project is getting more and more extensive .At the same time because of the restriction of structure and arranged , combined sluice-pump project existence considerable current problem, the phenomenon of spiral and deflected flow is serious in the forebay, the flow pattern is turbulent. So, the research on the inlet flow pattern of the combined sluice-pump project have important meaning to surmount its limitation ,develop its advantage and raise its efficiency.This paper summarize the main types of the project asymmetrical layout and set up the 3D flow mathematic model of the combined sluice-pump project. Based on Navier-Stokes equations and the standard k-εTurbulent mode,applied SIMPLE algorithm,given reasonable boundary condition, numerical simulation of 3D flow is applied on the inlet flow pattern.Through the numerical simulation, the factors affecting of infall flow pattern is analysed and researched.Besides the observation of the project flowfield ,two objective function is applied on the 3D numerical simulation.The results show that the main effect of the flow pattern is the ratio of the width of the approach channel to that the forebay and the ratio of the length of the diverting wall in the joint-part of the project to the width of the forebay, the best one is to insall the diversion piers,which can help improve the flow pattern induced by the side-inflow in the foerbay and raise the efficiency of the combined sluice-pump project. The results of the simulation also show that it is not suitable to install bottom sill or bottom slope in the project which have side-inflow forebay for improving the flow pattern.On the foundation of the numerical simulation, this paper make an experimental research on hydraulic model of the combined sluice-pump project. The experimentati- on is based upon the observation of the flow pattern and the testing of the velocity of flow.
