Electric energy is playing a more and more important role in industry and civil livelihood, thus leading to the demands for cable which is the electricity carrier getting much greater. However, in our inner cable production industry, the quality of the cable sometimes can't reach the national quality standards due to the poor equipments and techniques, it may bring loses to people's life and property. So it is necessary to implement quality measurement during the cable production process. Recently, the equipments used in our inner cable production are imported, the prices are very high while the demands for this kind of inspection equipments are very great. Considering this condition, the paper is discussing about the Design and Realization on Measurement System for Eccentricity and Thickness of Power Cable, so as to develop a set of feasible cable measurement equipment and meet the inner market demands.This paper illuminated the thematic background of the Design and Realization on Measurement System for Thickness and Eccentricity of Power Cable firstly, analyzed the present technique status of the system as well as its developing trend and also it expounded the reason for taking this subject and the meaning of the study,and summarized the main idea of the study and had a brief introduction of what efforts had been done for preparing for this paper.Then, it analyzed the characteristics of the cable's material and structure,studied on the working principles, according to the overall structure to with the functional characteristics of each unite, summarized the technique requirements of the system and pointed out the main points that need being paid attention to during the designing the system,so presented a general blueprint for the hardware design, made a detailed explanation of designing thoughts for each units of the system, gave the circuit diagrams. Combining with the hardware design and according to the program designing requirements, explained clearly the design process of the host and slave controller'programma.At the end of the paper, the major function units of the measurement system were tested and validated, then presented a test method and explained the system adjusting process and finally got the experimental achievements and reached the conclusion through analyzing.The Design and Realization on Measurement System for Eccentricity and Thickness of Power Cable being talked in this paper featured with the characteristics of high delicacy & reliability. It can supervise the cable quality efficiently during its production process,so instead of importing from outside and mark it with"Made in China".
