Nozzle is one of the most important components used in SRM. The nozzle is subjected to the cautery and concussion of the heat gas, so the thermal effect and related thermal-structure couple effect to the nozzle structure become the important factor affecting the load carrying capability of the nozzle. Well, the following investigation contents are accomplished in this paper.Firstly, the transient-state thermal analysis is completed, and the temperature distribution is attained under the given thermal boundary conditions. Based on geometry characteristic of the nozzle and the main factor in the procedure of the thermal analysis, the axial symmetry FEM model is established and the temperature distribution of the nozzle is evaluated.Next, on the basis of the transient-state thermal analysis, the thermal elastic-plastic analysis of the thermal-structure couple is obtained in the axial symmetry loads. In the transient-state thermal analysis, the boundary conditions of temperature and convection on the surface of nozzle are axial symmetry, then the temperature distribution in the nozzle is axial symmetry naturally. So by treating the result of the transient-state thermal analysis as the temperature loads of the couple analysis, and under the axial symmetry boundary conditions of inner pressure, the thermal stress distribution is computed as axial symmetry problem so that obtaining precise result.
