Analyse & Investigation To Cause The Rupture Problem Of The Motorcycle's Muffler

The vibration of a moving motorcycle directly affects the smooth and conformability of the products, as well as the products' reliability and durability.Due to the problems caused during the design and production of TD125 motorcycle, problems arise as muffler was ruptured when doing the reliability and durability testing for the motorcycle. Firstly, this essay focus on engineering mechanics point of view, using kinematics, principle of dynamics, and the relation of relative movement, investigates and analyzes the pressure condition of the motorcycle during the movement on the roads. The reason of the rupture of the motorcycle's muffler, through the detailed analysis of the oscillatory mechanism occurring by engine, transmission case and suspension gear, as well as test and analysis the vibration of the TD125 scooter (or pedal motorcycle), found the frequency's structure characteristics of the testing points' vibration, which provides the further evidence for analysis of reason to cause the vibration of the muffler.After the analysis of the vibration from the chosen measuring point, found that motorcycle's vibration frequency directly relate to the rotate speed of the engine, and most of the frequency is in the low frequency stage. However, the system does not have the vibration reducing measure, simultaneity the installation of the muffler exist overfull restriction, and the installation point of the muffler appears biggish distortional deformation which brings biggish internal stress.This essay using theoretical analysis and experimental result as criterion and provides on one hand to reduce the vibration of the engine, on the other hand, to improve muffler's way of installation. It has done locality improvement on the basis of the existing production mold. After improved design's motorcycle passed the 16000km durability testing, which proves the improved measure is effective and suitable. The improved motorcycle has been entering into mass production.The purpose of this essay, not only investigates and analyzes the rupture problem of the TD 125 motorcycle's muffler, but also provides the solution for the improvement of motorcycle's vibration. Therefore, this article shows the research method and the achievement for the rupture problem, which can provide important reference values for the study and application of the same-kind products.
