Failure analysis for airborne equipment is a specialized study. Judge the cause and find out the mechanism and rules for the failure through analyzing, testing and investigating in order to provide the data for improvement. Fracture is the most serious failure style, but it is a common one. In aviation material area, more than 80% mechanical fracture accidents are caused by metal fatigue.The text is beginning with the general investigation and statistics for the pipe fracture. Find out the common ground among these accidents to judge the major factor caused the accidents initially. Then, determine what caused the pipe fracture by the aid of the fracture analysis and the physical and chemical inspection. For the metal fatigue, combined with the aircraft present conditions, the measurements such as shock absorption and vibration prevention should be taken. Put forward a reasonable improvement project, and carry out the ground/air vibration tests for both original state and improved project to verify the practicability of the improvement project by comparison.The text determines the factor caused the accidents and verifies the practicability of the improvement project by collecting a vast amount of testing data, which pave a steady way for the following study.
